Gospel singer Kehinde Adegbodu has shared a deeply emotional account of losing his identical twin brother, Taiwo Adegbodu, revealing that he still sees him every day and finds it difficult to fully accept his passing.
In an interview with Biola Bayo, Kehinde, one half of the former popular gospel duo Adegbodu Twins, opened up about the shock of his brother’s sudden death.
“I never thought of losing Taiwo at that tender age. Taiwo was so active the day he died; it still looks like a dream to me.”
He admitted he has not fully recovered from the loss.
“I haven’t recovered from the shock, but I am believing God for strength.”
Kehinde explained that he still feels his twin’s strong presence.
“To me personally, I don’t believe my Twin, Taiwo, is dead because I see him every day beside me. Each time we have an event, my bandmates and I go to his graveside to speak to him.”
He also mentioned receiving a disturbing call.
“Someone even called me and said they should pray for me so that I don’t kpai like my brother very soon.”
The brothers were extremely close. Kehinde noted they got married on the same day and had all their children in the same month. He expressed bafflement that none of their spiritual fathers prophesied Taiwo’s death.
“None of our fathers in the Lord saw the death of Taiwo; this still baffles me to date.”
Taiwo Adegbodu passed away in March 2026. The Adegbodu Twins were known for their contributions to Yoruba gospel music over many years.
