Nollywood actress Linda Ejiofor has shared an inspiring story of perseverance after clinching two major awards at the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), revealing she once feared her acting career had hit a dead end.
The talented star made history at the awards ceremony by becoming the first actress to win both Best Lead Actress and Best Supporting Actress in the same night. She took home Best Lead Actress for her role in The Serpent’s Gift and Best Supporting Actress for The Herd.
In a heartfelt interview conducted by her husband, actor Ibrahim Suleiman, Linda opened up about the doubts that clouded her mind three years ago.
“Three years ago, I thought my career was stagnant and not going anywhere, and I asked God for something, anything. And He gave me two beautiful stories.”
She expressed deep gratitude to her husband for his unwavering support during that challenging period.
“I am so grateful to God, grateful to my husband because he stood by me through this. He told me that I did well in both movies. To be honest, I didn’t believe him.”
During her emotional acceptance speech at the AMVCA, Linda reflected on a specific prayer she made seeking a challenging role. She thanked God for answering her and credited the platform for the opportunity to showcase her talent.
Her double victory stands as one of the most remarkable achievements of the 2026 AMVCA edition, with many describing it as a defining breakthrough in her career. The wins highlight her versatility as she delivered strong performances in two different projects.
As Nollywood continues to shine on the continental stage, Linda Ejiofor’s triumph serves as motivation for upcoming talents facing similar doubts about their future in the industry.
