As news of the incident spread rapidly, several Big Brother Naija alumni publicly reacted with concern, empathy, and calls for accountability.

Former housemate Tacha expressed deep shock and emotional distress in her response. She said:

“I never knew that this girl was dealing with family problems in the house? Beauty just updated, let me call her and find out what’s going on. Ilebaye does not deserve that. We’ve been wondering why she’s not productive, but she has been battling family problems. Why will her father do that? She’s just 25.”

Venita highlighted the long-term impact of such violence, stating:

“As a father, there is absolutely no reason for some kind of levels of violence towards your own Children…ESPECIALLY the girl children. It’s sooooo TRAUMATIC and does psychological damage beyond repair! It affects how they relate and connect to men in their lives! & so much more. Heartbroken on her birthday too.”

Beauty Tukura, who played a key role in coordinating help during the crisis, later reassured fans and the public. She affirmed:

“She’s no longer in harm’s way. Thank God.

It’s not my story to tell but thanks everyone. Ilebaye is fine and she’ll tell her story in her time. Thanks everyone.”

The incident ignited widespread conversations online about domestic violence, family dynamics involving public figures, and the mental health struggles young celebrities may face privately. Many fans and observers have praised the swift intervention by her BBNaija colleagues while calling for stronger protections for survivors.
