Nigerian singer-songwriter Bukola Elemide, known to fans as Asa, has announced the death of her mother. The 43-year-old artist broke the news in an emotional Instagram post on Tuesday.

In the tribute, Asa described her late mother with deep affection. She wrote,

“My mother, my reason to be, my queen, my everything.”

She explained that the loss came suddenly and unexpectedly.

“A sudden brain tumor came without warning and took you too soon.”

The singer painted a warm delicate picture of the woman who raised her.

“You were generous. The kindest soul. You had your own quiet swag, you were extremely shy, and so funny. My biggest fan.”

Asa also recalled a sweet memory that captured her mother’s unwavering support.

“You couldn’t hold a note to save your life, but you sang every one of my songs with your whole heart.”

She ended the post with a final goodbye that mixed grief and gratitude.

“Your strength, your love, your spirit will remain with me forever. Rest now, Mum.”
