Nollywood actress Yetunde Bakare has spoken out after facing backlash for commenting on a post about secretly recording conversations, revealing that Toyin Abraham’s fans routinely attack her whenever she engages with Funke Akindele’s content.

The drama unfolded after a leaked audio of Toyin Abraham speaking with a fan named Bisgold circulated online around October 14, 2026. In the roughly 12-minute recording, Bisgold repeatedly insulted Funke Akindele while Abraham listened and laughed without intervening. The conversation also touched on past remarks about Iyabo Ojo, with Abraham agreeing she had not gotten over them either. The leak reignited long-running online tension between Abraham and Akindele, which earlier this year included a public snub at a movie premiere where Akindele ignored Abraham’s greeting.

Regina Chukwu responded to the leak by questioning the culture of secretly recording private phone calls with friends or acquaintances. In the comments under that post, Bakare wrote:

“It’s 2 ways. I have so much to say about this but not today.”

The remark drew sharp criticism. Bakare pushed back, saying her only offence was supporting someone openly.

“So my crime is supporting someone with my full chest? Imagine saying I’m always happy when they’re fighting, as if you live with me, or you can read my mind, or I carry band dancing around? How do you know I’m happy? This is not witchcraft?” she wrote.

She added that the level of “stupidīty and dumbass needs special evaluation,” told critics their tears were useless, and noted that even breathing draws hate.

She later shared a video clarifying that she did not know about Abraham’s leaked audio when she left the comment. Bakare explained that Abraham’s fans have long targeted her for simply commenting on Funke Akindele’s posts, and that the constant attacks made her feel singled out. That pattern, she said, fed into the current misunderstanding.
