Nollywood actress and filmmaker Eniola Ajao has broken down in a new video, pleading with Nigerians to help her after she alleged that her YouTube page is being reported and shadow-banned just as her new movie needs viewers. She said the pressure is already pushing her into debt.
“Nigerians, please help me; I am running into debt now,” she said.
Ajao claimed some people have been reporting her account and blocking her page from reaching viewers. She said they accuse her of taking sides in a quarrel she insists she never joined.
“I don’t know what I have done to some people on social media; they said I have offended them and claimed I am supporting one person against another, which is never true,” she said.
She did not name anyone and offered no proof that YouTube had shadow-banned her page. She still asked for forgiveness if she had hurt anyone.
“Please, I want you all to forgive me if I have offended you in any way. I am a peaceful person, and I don’t want trouble,” she said.
Then she spoke directly to whoever she thinks is hitting report.
“Please, stop reporting my page anymore.”
She also asked fans to go to her YouTube channels and watch the new film.
The timing matters. Her latest film, The Hotel, dropped on Eniola Ajao Films TV on YouTube on September 25, featuring Kolawole Ajeyemi, Sanyeri, Lolade Okusanya and Tosin Olaiya. She produces her own work now, so those views are money. That is why she is begging people to watch.
She has done this kind of plea before. In 2024 she cried online while asking Nigerians to support Beast of Two Worlds (Ajakaju) after a premiere stunt blew up in her face.
The video also comes days after critic Tolu Fagbure called her acting “plastic delivery” and said she had no business in cinema. Ajao answered that opinions are free but careers are built.
“Cinema or no cinema, I’m not stopping anytime soon,” she wrote.
