Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has firmly shut down public scrutiny of her failed marriage to Bobby Maris, declaring she will only speak about it if absolutely necessary as she focuses on healing and raising her children.

In a composed Instagram statement released on July 16, 2026, the mother of three addressed the intense online buzz surrounding her separation from her younger husband, whom she married traditionally in January 2023.

“I understand that many people have opinions about my personal life. The truth is, no one knows the full story except the people who actually lived it. Yet, social media has a way of making everyone believe they know more about someone else’s life than the people living it,” she wrote.

Uche made her boundaries crystal clear:

“My priority right now is raising my children, my healing – however, that journey unfolds – and moving forward with dignity and peace of mind. I will not be discussing the details of my marriage publicly unless there is an absolute need to do so. Until then, I respectfully ask for understanding, kindness, and respect for me and everyone involved.”

She ended with gratitude for compassionate supporters:

“Thank you to everyone who has chosen compassion over judgment.”

The actress’s decision comes after weeks of public drama, including unfollowing each other on Instagram, cryptic posts about narcissism, leaked voice notes, and family interventions. Uche had earlier announced her separation, revealing she gave eight years to the union and was tired of playing the “princess who married her.”

Her fresh stance signals a desire to protect her peace and shield her children from further spectacle, a move many fans are praising as mature amid the often messy celebrity breakups that dominate headlines.
