Controversial media personality and self-proclaimed relationship coach Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has openly expressed deep regret over publicly appealing for financial help online to cover her alleged cancer treatment costs. In a candid interview with Saturday Beats, she admitted that the decision backfired badly and left her facing entitlement and refund demands from many quarters.

Blessing CEO stated clearly,

“I regret doing that because it made people feel entitled. Some of the loudest people demanding refunds didn’t even contribute. I just want to return the money and have my peace. I will never come online to ask for financial help again.”

She explained her evolving understanding of public donations.

“I just realised that if people give you money, you have to be accountable to them. At first, I didn’t know that asking for support would come with putting out my private medical details. But now, I’m more comfortable and I have a better understanding of my medical reports.”

The appeal had drawn significant donations, with reports indicating she received around ₦13 million, though figures were exaggerated in some circles.

Controversy erupted when doubts surfaced about the severity of her condition, including claims of stage 4 cancer, leading to accusations of misleading the public and calls for refunds or even EFCC involvement.

Blessing CEO addressed skepticism head-on.

“It is not my business whether people believe me or not. Most people on social media don’t even understand what is going on. Whether I am sick or not, they will still talk.”

She further reflected on the personal toll.

“I don’t feel any type of way about it. I think people are not used to seeing me vulnerable because I’ve built a strong and resilient persona. At this point, I just have to stand up for myself. I don’t need anyone’s trust. I’ll be fine.”

She claimed to have temporarily deactivated her Instagram account to escape escalating drama and protect her page from reports or being taken down.

“It wasn’t about running away. I have lost pages in similar situations before so I took time off before the page could be reported and deactivated. Taking time off social media actually gave me peace. It helped me refocus and think about life beyond social media.”

Blessing CEO noted that her fiancé remained supportive throughout.

“He wasn’t bothered. People will always talk, but he understands me. There’s nothing anyone can say that can shake him.”

She emphasized her desire for peace and a fresh focus away from constant online scrutiny.

This latest reflection adds another layer to Blessing CEO’s history of bold and often divisive public statements on relationships and personal matters. The regret comes after weeks of intense backlash, refund offers to donors who provided proof of contribution, and heated debates about transparency in celebrity health appeals.
