Nollywood actor and skitmaker, Cute Abiola, has roused banter in the comment section of his colleague, Itele, who announced the purchase of a second multimillion-naira house in Lekki, Lagos. The jab quickly caught attention online following Itele’s post on Wednesday.
Itele’s wife had shared the good news about their latest property acquisition on her Instagram.
“God did
New home in the axis of Lagos.
I don’t even know where to begin. My husband @iteledicon01, thank you for giving us a home, not just a house. You carried this dream in your heart and turned it into our reality.”
In her post, she credited his hard work, dedication, and sacrifices for the achievement.
“I saw your sacrifices, your strength, your patience… and today it has all become something so beautiful. Because of you, we now have a place to build memories, grow, laugh, and love even deeper.”
The house marks another milestone for the actor, who has been celebrating major wins lately, including his movie Koleoso becoming the first Nollywood title to hit 100 million views on YouTube.
In response, Cute Abiola left a direct comment under Itele’s announcement.
“Congratulations, no be your hard work be this sha. Na woman buy am for you, cause I check your YouTube, na just 150 million views I dey see for there.”
The remark was clearly made in jest, poking fun at the idea that Itele’s YouTube numbers alone might not yet account for such a big purchase. It quickly drew reactions from fans who saw the exchange as typical industry banter between friends and colleagues.
Itele has openly spoken in the past about his journey from humble beginnings, including pre-fame struggles that nearly cost him everything. He has consistently given credit to supporters like Femi Adebayo and others who helped him along the way. His recent achievements have been a point of pride for him and his “Koleoso family.”
While no serious rift appears to have formed, the light-hearted exchange highlights the friendly rivalries that often play out publicly in Nollywood circles.
Fans have since weighed in on the post, with many enjoying the camaraderie and using it as a moment to celebrate Itele’s continued growth in the industry.
