Seyi Tinubu Denies Claims Amid VDM–Mitchy Drama

Nigeria’s political and social media space has taken another dramatic turn as Seyi Tinubu has finally broken his silence after being dragged into the ongoing online clash involving VeryDarkMan and influencer King Mitchy.

The controversy, which has dominated online conversations for days, intensified after allegations surfaced linking the president’s son to the dispute.

In a strongly worded statement shared via his Instagram story, Seyi Tinubu dismissed the claims surrounding him, insisting he had been unfairly pulled into a feud he did not start.

“Over the past few days, my name has been deliberately drawn into an online dispute between VeryDarkMan (VDM) and King Mitchy.”

He added firmly:

“Let me be clear: the allegations and insinuations made about me are false.”

According to him, his only interaction with Mitchy happened publicly and involved charitable support.

“I met Mitchy once, in a public setting, alongside others… I provided financial support toward her NGO activities, just as I have supported many young Nigerians and organisations working to empower our people.”

He also denied any hidden dealings.

“There has never been a private encounter, no secret arrangement, and no impropriety of any kind.”

Seyi Tinubu expressed concern about what he described as deliberate attempts to damage his reputation.

“What is deeply concerning is that a feud I did not start… has been used as a vehicle to insert my name into a narrative without basis in truth.”

He alleged that the activist had been looking for an opportunity to attack him.

“VDM appears to have been looking for a trigger… to harm my reputation… I will not accept that.”

Making his position unmistakably clear, he declared:

“I will not be bullied.”

He also insisted that charity work should not be turned into scandal.

“Supporting charitable causes is not a crime. Meeting someone publicly to support their NGO is not a scandal. Repeating falsehoods loudly does not transform them into truth.”

The dispute stems from a heated online exchange between VeryDarkMan and King Mitchy over social impact projects and public claims about school renovations.

As tensions escalated, the influencer became the subject of intense public scrutiny, with conflicting reports later emerging about her wellbeing, claims that were subsequently disputed by Prime Care Hospitals, which denied she was ever treated or declared dead at its facility.
