It is a heartbreaking Friday for Nigerian singer Rasheed Shanko, who has announced the death of his son, Jamaldeen Emrys Atanda Jnr.

The grieving father shared the devastating news on his Instagram page just minutes before it began spreading across social media. In his emotional message, he reflected on the unimaginable pain of losing a child and expressed faith despite the tragedy.

“So Sad no parent pray to lose a child in their lifetime but Alhamdulilahi Jamaldeen Emrys Atanda JNR rest well, my champ. I will surely tell you all about it when I see you again. Omo Ola sun reeee ooo”.

Following the announcement, fans and colleagues flooded his comment section with heartfelt condolences and prayers.

Among those who reacted were actress Sotayo Gaga, who wrote, “Omg, so sorry for your loss,” and actor Gabriel Afolayan, who encouraged him, saying God would be with him through the painful moment.

Earlier, in 2023, skit maker Olagunju Solomon Olamide, popularly known as Akika, also lost his son, sharing the painful news with followers online.
