Nollywood actress Judy Austin has shared relationship advice for women, warning that lack of intentional effort is one of the biggest problems in many marriages today.
In a message posted on her Instagram page, the actress said many people prefer to “play victim” instead of actively nurturing their relationships. According to her, building a happy marriage requires deliberate effort in every area of life.
“You must be intentional with your partner if you want a happy marriage!! Most people would rather play victim than be intentional with their partners. And I mean intentional in every aspect of your lives.”
She also pointed to social media as a major factor damaging modern relationships, saying many couples don’t even realise its negative impact.
“Social media is one of the biggest problems most people are having in their marriages today. The worst part is they don’t even know.”
The wife of actor Yul Edochie has consistently spoken about love, commitment, and emotional responsibility in relationships.
During the widely discussed separation of music star Innocent Idibia and his wife Annie Idibia, she revealed she was on honeymoon and encouraged people to pray for genuine love as much as they pray for financial success. According to her, wealth without love leads to loneliness.

She has also advised women to protect and nurture true love, warning against choosing loneliness because of people who do not value them.
Her views, however, continue to draw mixed reactions online, especially amid her controversial relationship history. Veteran actress Rita Edochie previously criticised her publicly, questioning how someone could “hold somebody’s husband to ransom” while giving relationship advice.
Judy’s relationship with Yul became a national controversy after it led to the breakdown of his marriage to May Edochie, who later filed for divorce and secured custody of their children.
Despite ongoing public scrutiny, Judy continues to share messages about love, faith, and intentional living, urging couples to be deliberate if they truly want lasting happiness.
