Fresh drama has erupted between Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo and his estranged wife, Omotayo Sanusi, popularly known as Iyan Aladuke, as she publicly rejected claims made about her eviction and accused the actor of staging events to protect his image.
Her reaction follows a report attributed to a member of Adebayo’s family, which claimed her removal from a Lagos property was due to a bank foreclosure process and not a deliberate action by the actor. The source reportedly stated that Adebayo ensured she and others were moved into a short-let apartment after the bank began recovery proceedings.
But Iyan Aladuke has strongly disputed that narrative.
Taking to social media, she said she had tried to stay silent but felt forced to speak.
“I’m going through a tough time and really didn’t want to air it on social media, but here I am. Last year, I was bashed and falsely accused, but thank God for the good people around me who stood by me. Now it seems the tables have turned — what was meant to disgrace me has turned to glory.”
She alleged that the situation went beyond a normal property recovery and described a dramatic scene.
“What did you expect when you took almost 20 armed men to a public place to evict people? Of course, the news would spread! You started it, keep fueling. My aged mother was thrown out with a gun, knowing fully well she’ll be there as she comes around to help me with my child!”
She also accused the actor of pretending to be an active father after what she described as a long absence.
“You staged a visit to his school on Wednesday after being absent for a whole year, even when your office is just a few minutes’ walk from home! You took a picture to garnish your image, watched us thrown out of my marital home on Friday, and now published the visit in Punch.”
Iyan further called for a retraction of what she described as false reports.
“Whoever published those false narratives in Punch Newspapers should retract them. I’m only quiet because of my son — please don’t push me! You can’t silence me anymore!”
Her statement adds a new layer to the ongoing controversy surrounding the actor, which recently gained attention after her Yaba eatery was sealed amid reports of loan-related issues tied to the property.
As of press time, Femi Adebayo has not publicly responded to the fresh allegations.
