An emotional Toyin took to social media to pour out her heart in gratitude, admitting she was overwhelmed by the historic achievement.
She wrote:

She added:
“My first directorial debut on the big screen. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.”
Just last week, the actress revealed the movie had crossed ₦950 million, describing the feat as feeling like a dream. Now, crossing the ₦1 billion mark has sealed her place among Nollywood’s biggest box office forces.
What makes the win even more special is that Oversabi Aunty marks her first cinema film as a director, proving her power goes beyond acting.
This is not Toyin Abraham’s first major milestone. In 2024, her film Alakada Bad and Boujee ranked as the 5th highest-grossing Nollywood movie of all time, further cementing her reputation as a commercial powerhouse.
Her impact also earned her a Trailblazer Award at the 2024 Silverbird Man of the Year Awards, where she was praised for being fearless, dynamic, and for redefining Nollywood success.
