A deeply emotional moment played out at the Service of Songs for late actress Allwell Ademola as Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo publicly forgave Allwell’s brother, following weeks of tension sparked by his comments on social media.
Entertainment Reporter gathered that Allwell Ademola’s family had earlier announced her burial arrangements in a viral statement. According to the family, the actress will be buried at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos State, on Friday, January 9, 2026, while the Service of Songs, candlelight procession, and artiste night held on Thursday, January 8, at LTV8, from 4pm to 11pm.
Following Allwell’s death, her brother had sparked outrage online after calling out several Nollywood actors, accusing them of abandoning his sister while she was alive. He mentioned names including Iyabo Ojo and Lateef Adedimeji, questioning how many of them truly supported Allwell’s career despite benefiting from her kindness.
Iyabo Ojo had responded firmly, stating that she supported Allwell during her journey as a producer and director. She revealed that she featured in several of the late actress’ movies for free and also gave her financial and emotional support when needed.
In a now-trending video from the Service of Songs, Allwell’s brother was seen walking up to Iyabo Ojo in a moment that stunned many in attendance. The grieving brother nearly prostrated before the actress as he offered a public apology.
As he knelt, he was heard saying:
“You could see that I didn’t abuse you.”
Iyabo Ojo immediately stopped him from going further, asking him to stand up, after which she embraced him in a warm hug, drawing emotional reactions from those present. As he attempted to explain himself further, a man escorting Iyabo gently asked him not to continue.
The video has since gone viral, with fans flooding social media with mixed reactions.
