Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has responded to allegations made by the brother of her late colleague, Allwell Ademola, following the actress’s sudden death.
Entertainment Reporter had earlier reported that Allwell Ademola passed away on Saturday night after suffering a heart attack at her residence. The tragic news was confirmed by several Nollywood colleagues, including Damola Olatunji, Mr Latin, Faithia Williams, and Bidemi Kosoko, who took to social media to mourn her.
However, amid the outpouring of tributes, Allwell Ademola’s brother sparked controversy after releasing a viral video in which he accused some Nollywood stars of failing to support his sister while she was alive.
In the emotional video, he questioned the sincerity of the tributes, calling out top actors by name.
“Everybody dey post Allwell rest in peace. How many of you supported my sister when she was alive? All of una A-list actors wey call una self her friends… Iyabo Ojo, all of una,” he said.
He further alleged that despite working closely with many actors, his sister was not featured or promoted in their projects.
Reacting to the claims, Iyabo Ojo strongly defended herself, stating that she had gone above and beyond to support the late actress during her lifetime.
Responding under one of the viral Instagram posts, Iyabo wrote:
“I oversupported your sister when she was alive. When she was building her career as a producer and director, I featured in her movies countless times for free, and I also supported her financially and emotionally. May her beautiful soul continue to rest in perfect peace.”
Her response has since generated mixed reactions online, with many fans and industry colleagues weighing in on the growing conversation around support, friendship, and recognition in Nollywood.

As tributes continue to pour in, the late Allwell Ademola is being remembered for her resilience, talent, and contributions to the Nigerian film industry.
