Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has sparked a fresh wave of controversy following reports of the wedding of Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Grace Nation – Liberation City, insisting that the public celebration hides what she describes as a much darker reality.
In a series of emotional social media posts reacting to news of the cleric’s wedding, Ogala alleged that “the public does not know what is really going on behind the scenes,” making explosive claims about the circumstances surrounding the marriage.
According to the actress, the marriage was not voluntary, alleging that the bride was assaulted, became pregnant, and that the situation was allegedly managed privately to prevent public scandal. Ogala further claimed that the bride’s mother, whom she identified as the church’s choir coordinator, allegedly insisted on the marriage to protect reputations.
She also alleged that Pastor Chris Okafor had another woman he was reportedly planning to marry on the 24th, insisting that she possesses “chats and videos” which she claims support her version of events.
Describing the situation as “darker than it looks,” Ogala said her decision to speak out was deliberate, even though it has come at a personal cost. She maintained that her revelations are part of what she described as a spiritual and personal reckoning, stating that she felt compelled to expose what she believes had been deliberately hidden.
All claims remain unverified, and Pastor Chris Okafor has not publicly responded to the new allegations as of the time of this report.
Actress Slams Cleric With N1bn Lawsuit Over Alleged Breach of Marriage Promise
In a dramatic legal escalation, Doris Ogala has also filed a ₦1 billion lawsuit against Pastor Chris Okafor, accusing him of breach of promise to marry.
The actress disclosed this on Wednesday after sharing a formal demand letter issued by her lawyers, Synergy Law Partners, on her social media platforms.
Entertainment Reporter recalls that Ogala had earlier stirred intense online debate after accusing the cleric of planning to marry another woman, despite what she described as years of an intimate and committed relationship between them.
Speaking emotionally in earlier posts, Ogala claimed she supported the pastor privately, bought gifts for his children, and remained loyal for years, only to be sidelined when he allegedly decided to marry someone else.
According to the legal notice sighted on Wednesday and addressed to Pastor Chris Okafor, the actress claims the relationship began in 2017, during what she described as a period of marital distress, when the cleric allegedly offered pastoral support alongside a clear promise of marriage.
Her lawyers state that the alleged promise was reinforced through: Introductions to the pastor’s children, appearances together at family functions and conduct that allegedly created a legitimate expectation of marriage.
Ogala further claims she relied on this promise to her detriment by leaving her troubled marriage and entrusting the cleric with ₦45 million in a single transaction.
The suit alleges that the pastor’s public announcement of his engagement to another woman amounts to a clear breach of the alleged agreement, resulting in severe emotional, psychological, and reputational damage.
The lawsuit also alleges that Ogala has been subjected to online harassment, victim-shaming, and the malicious circulation of nude photographs without her consent.
Her lawyers claim the fallout has led to panic attacks, severe emotional distress, and suicidal thoughts, describing the situation as life-threatening.
Ogala is demanding ₦1 billion in aggravated and general damages, giving the cleric 21 days to respond, failing which the matter will proceed to court.
