Asake

A singer,  Asake’s Lagos homecoming concert has drawn widespread backlash after organisers set the ticket price at N300,000, leaving fans accusing them of “pricing out true supporters.”

Social media rapidly erupted with frustration. A fan Blondehoe wrote: “Asake ticket prices are ridiculous. Not even Chris Brown, Summer Walker and Travis Scott were this expensive. I might need a Nigerian bf to buy me a ticket soon.”

Another fan, Yemmmmie added: “So Nigerians are paying $200 just to stand and watch Asake, while people abroad get seats for under $100? Make it make sense. It’s giving ‘exploit your own.’”

Other fans shared similar concerns. Ayzo lamented: “I really wanted to go for Asake’s show but 300k is too ridiculous.”

Promoters argue the steep price reflects production and service costs, with VIP tickets offering additional perks. Still, critics insist ordinary fans are being left out. Some fan groups have even threatened a boycott unless more affordable options are introduced.

This isn’t the first time Asake’s ticket pricing has caused uproar. Previous Lagos shows saw VIP tickets at N70,000, with premium tables reaching N10 million. Fans argue rising prices disregard those who supported Asake from his early days.

Asake shot into prominence in 2022 with the song ‘Omo Ope,’ a street‑pop banger featuring Olamide.

Since then, he has built a string of hits that defined his sound, blending Afrobeats, Amapiano and street‑hop vibes. Among these are ‘Peace Be Unto You (PBUY)’, ‘Sungba’ (and its remix with Burna Boy), ‘Terminator’ and ‘Organise’, tracks celebrated for their hooks and club‑ready energy.
