Friction Still Dey — Don Jazzy and Wande Coal Snub Each Other in New Birthday Clip With D’banj

A new video causing a stir on social media has reignited long-standing rumours that Don Jazzy and Wande Coal are still not on good terms over a decade after their infamous fallout.

The clip, shared on November 26th, 2025, by Afrobeats legend D’banj to celebrate Don Jazzy’s 43rd birthday, features the three former Mo’Hits powerhouses together in the same space. However, what was supposed to be a nostalgic moment quickly turned into a talking point for fans.

D’banj paired the video with their 2010 hit “Mr Endowed”, a track stamped with Don Jazzy’s iconic intros and Wande Coal’s unmistakable ad-libs; a reminder of the golden Mo’Hits era.

But viewers noticed something else: Don Jazzy and Wande Coal appeared to ignore each other completely.

In the video, D’banj warmly embraces Don Jazzy. Wande Coal, however, stands to the side, puffing smoke and making what fans described as “irrational eye movements.”

At a point, D’banj even tries to pull Wande Coal closer to Don Jazzy an attempt to spark a friendly exchange but nothing happens. No handshake, no hug and no acknowledgement.

This instantly fueled fan speculation and eagle-eyed social media users wasted no time dissecting the tension:

@akin_wdy observed, “Love the love… but from chemistry… friction still dey here.” @vlahdmello added, “Goated Duo, the highest combo the industry have ever seen… HBD Don.” @phantomchef_ said, “Wande no send this guy at all, see as he look am.” @petersmart2024 asked, “Why Wande Coal dey do eye up and down!”

Many users concluded from the energy in the clip that the two stars are still not cool.

A quick check by some fans showed that Don Jazzy does not follow Wande Coal on Instagram, and Wande Coal is also not following Don Jazzy.

Screenshots verify that both follow lists remain mutually empty, further hinting at unresolved issues between the two Afrobeats giants.

The tension between Don Jazzy and Wande Coal dates back to 2013, after the release of Wande Coal’s song “Baby Face.”

Don Jazzy accused the singer of using his intellectual property without permission, tagging the act “theft” in a public Twitter call-out.

Wande Coal fired back, insisting he had every right to pursue his career after years of loyalty, adding that “Baby Face” evolved from a demo both had previously worked on.

The clash ultimately led to Wande Coal’s exit from the label; a separation fans have hoped the industry icons would eventually reconcile.

The viral clip has renewed conversations about whether the former Mo’Hits stars may ever resolve their differences or even bless fans with a joint project again.

So far, neither Don Jazzy nor Wande Coal has addressed the new video. But for fans, this latest moment feels like confirmation that “something is still not right.”
