Nigerian singer Ruger has finally addressed claims that he is beefing Afrobeats heavyweight Davido, insisting he has no issue with the DMW boss and owes him no apology.
For months, Davido’s fans have accused Ruger of taking sides in the long-running rivalry between Davido and Wizkid, especially after Ruger openly praised Wizkid and his fanbase online.
Fueling the tension further, an X user known as Davido Police recently claimed Ruger’s music career would not progress unless he apologised to Davido.
The user wrote:
“When you’re ready apologize and beg Davido publicly, your song will enter No 1.”
Ruger, however, was quick to shut down the claim, questioning whether Davido ever complained to the fan.
He responded:
“And did Davido tell you I did anything wrong to him?”
In a follow-up post, Ruger cleared the air completely, stating he has nothing but love for Davido and does not believe the singer harbours any resentment towards him.
According to him, Davido’s team members still repost his content, which is proof that the alleged beef is simply fan-made propaganda.
Ruger wrote:
“I love Davido and I know he loves me too. People on his team still repost my sht. I will never believe this agenda that he doesn’t fck with me except he says it to my face or publicly. But if him talk am, everywhere go first blur sha.”

His response has calmed some of the online buzz, but fan rivalry continues to fuel discussions as both artistes prepare for upcoming 2025 releases.
