Social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), has narrated his side of the dramatic fight that broke out between him and comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, aka Mr Jollof, inside a United Nigeria Airlines flight.
In a video shared on his page, VDM said he confronted Mr Jollof immediately he spotted him on the flight from Asaba, Delta State, to Lagos, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation.
Giving details of what happened, VDM said:
“I don chop Jollof fada for inside plane. Man when dey bite. E nor shame, e dey bite. Man when dey bite. I be@t… dem dey beg… dem dey help am.”
According to him, he intentionally walked up to Mr Jollof to challenge him:
“I enter plane, I see am naim I tell am say today you go slap me oo… I go near and naim e punch me.”
VDM added that the comedian did not stop at throwing punches. He claimed Mr Jollof resorted to biting when the fight intensified:
“When I follow am, e start to bite me… him eye red.”
The airline is yet to release an official statement on the incident, but passengers onboard allegedly intervened to separate the two men as the confrontation disrupted calm on the aircraft.
The unexpected mid-air drama between VDM and Mr Jollof has triggered a wave of hilarious and sharp reactions on social media.
Instagram user @mamauka_ joked, “See Jollof dey throw punch like woman.” @e.c.h.i_ added, “Why Jollof dey throw blow like lesbian.”
@shadesofprecious wrote, “Best video of the week.” @sparklez_silver commented, “Week wey go sweet, na from Monday we dey know.” @nacamoto_556 called for action, saying, “Aviation authorities suppose place ban on the both parties.”
The tension between Mr jollof and VDM appeared to have spilled over into real life during the Asaba–Lagos trip, leading to the viral mid-air fight.
