Nigerian comedian Princess has hit back at critics who have been dragging her online following the release of actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, from prison.
Baba Ijesha, who spent over three years in custody over allegations of sexual assault involving a minor, was released on Friday, November 15th.
Actor Yomi Fabiyi announced the news on Instagram, stating that the actor was freed after being cleared by the Appeal Court. Fabiyi added that Baba Ijesha is “not just back but better,” expressing joy over his release.
However, Princess who was central to the case when it first broke fired back at Nigerians cursing and mocking her online.
In a video shared on her Instagram page, the comedian said:
“I can see some people curs!ng me that God will pun!sh me after Baba Ijesha was released from prison. God doesn’t support child def!lement. You all can send your daughters to him for Christmas.”
Princess maintained that despite the court ruling, Baba Ijesha remains, in her words, “a convicted serial paedoph!le and r@pist.” She insisted that he had “dozens of victims” and urged members of the public to stay alert.
She called on schools, hotels and landlords to deny him access to their premises.
“His full name is Olanrewaju James Omiyinka. I am also calling on the Lagos State Government to publish his name publicly as a s*x offender”, she said.
Princess went on to accuse the actor of repeated predatory behaviour, claiming he “r@pes both young and adult.”
She also alleged that he frequently relocated after incidents to avoid suspicion.
“This is how he operates,” she said. “After he has ass@ulted a child somewhere, he will leave his house in the middle of the night and relocate. He has lived in Mafoluku, Oworo, Lagos Island, etc.”
Her reaction has since sparked fresh debate online, with many Nigerians taking sides as the controversial case resurfaces.
