Nollywood actor and activist Yomi Fabiyi has reacted strongly to the release of embattled actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, who regained his freedom after over three years in prison.
Baba Ijesha was released on Friday, November 15, after what Fabiyi described as a “clearance by the Appeal Court.” The actor had been in custody over allegations of sexually assaulting a minor under the care of comedienne Princess.
Announcing the development on Instagram, Fabiyi wrote:
“You are now officially FREE AND OUT. Baba Ijesha is not just back but BETTER.”
He added that he was relieved the Appeal Court cleared him of “ever having sex/defiling any child/minor.”
According to him, “The 7-year-old story is a charade… where sentiments and wickedness rise above the rule of law and truth.”
Fabiyi then launched into a series of allegations against comedienne Princess, claiming the entire case was mishandled, manipulated, and deliberately staged to ruin the actor’s life.
In his post, Fabiyi alleged that: Princess and her allies “set a trap” and falsified the girl’s age, stating there was no proven evidence that the child was 14. A neighbour, Damola Adekola (aka Okele), who he claimed “sexually abused the girl since 2020,” walked free despite being arrested alongside Baba Ijesha. Sperm was found on the girl days after Ijesha’s arrest, and Fabiyi alleged the DNA result did not link to the actor. Princess allegedly “groomed the girl for sexual activities” and created child pornography by installing cameras on the day Ijesha was invited. And the girl was allegedly re-traumatised for the sake of obtaining evidence.
Fabiyi wrote:
“Princess Comedian and her co-travellers engaged in CHILD PORNOGRAPHY… She recorded how her foster daughter was sexually abused… She practically wants the girl to suffer PTSD.”
The actor insisted that he and his human rights organisation do not support sexual abuse in any form but would continue to fight against “selective justice and organised crime.”

In 2022, Baba Ijesha was sentenced to 16 years imprisonment but was to serve five years consecutively after being found guilty of sexually assaulting Princess’s foster child.
Fabiyi was one of the few Nollywood figures who publicly stood by the actor during the trial. He consistently maintained that the case was flawed, often insisting that Ijesha had the right to appeal and that Princess should be held accountable for “parental negligence.”
In a previous interview, Fabiyi argued:
“There was no evidence he slept with her. Princess called him to shoot a skit. The man who slept with the girl is walking free.”
With the recent development, Fabiyi believes the court’s decision has vindicated his long-held stance.
As of this report, Princess has not yet issued a formal response.
