Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has addressed the allegations made by her colleague Taye Arimoro, who accused her and her team of physically assaulting him on a movie set.
In a viral live video, Arimoro claimed that the misunderstanding began after he insisted on leaving the film location past his agreed contract time. According to him, his work for the day was supposed to end by 11 p.m., but production extended past midnight. He alleged that when he tried to leave, Peggy instructed her driver to block his car, and the situation later turned violent.
In the video, Arimoro showed visible injuries on his gums and lips, claiming he was assaulted during the confrontation. He also alleged that his car tyres were deflated as part of the dispute.
Reacting to the allegations, Ovire took to her Instagram page to share her side of the story. The actress denied the claims and alleged instead that Arimoro had attacked two members of the crew.
“Taye, you beat up two crew members simply because you felt they had no voice — no social media presence, no one to speak for them,” she wrote. “They were only begging you to please complete two short scenes so we could wrap the night. Moments later, you went live to record their reaction, leaving out the part where the violence began.”
Ovire explained that Arimoro had arrived on set around noon and became agitated when asked to film an additional short scene after midnight.
“You reacted sharply when I tried to talk to you, so I decided to give you space,” she continued. “Later, when the Production Manager approached you to appeal for more time, you got physical with him. You had punched the Production Manager three times, and he was on the floor before the driver came out.”

She added that when she came out to intervene, the confrontation had already gotten out of hand. Ovire further claimed that Arimoro drove off while she was still beside his car, and that her driver was later found bleeding from the ear after reportedly being hit multiple times during the scuffle.
Concluding her statement, Ovire said her decision to speak up wasn’t out of anger but to clarify the events.
“No one deserves to be treated such way,” she said. “I’m only speaking now to set the record straight.”

The incident has since sparked widespread discussion on social media.
