Echoes of the Grind EP: The Untold Story Behind The 7 Tracks That Survived The Bootcamp

After days of sleepless sessions, raw ideas, and relentless creativity, Echoes of the Grind EP finally found its heartbeat; a set of seven tracks that carry the pulse of hustle, hope, and patience.

Born from the creative bootcamp of the Music Marketing Conference Africa, the project gathered over twenty creatives: artists, producers, songwriters, music marketers, PR executives, and talent managers; all united by a shared fire to make something real that could stand the test of time.

Speaking to Entertainment Reporter, music marketer and one of the executive producers, Oyinda Olukanni, explained how the EP came to life.

“After completing the Bootcamp, I proactively contacted several industry professionals with insightful perspectives to assist in selecting the right tracks for our EP. Recognizing that a full album wasn’t feasible, we decided on a concise 7-track EP”, Oyinda said.

Speaking of the ingenious and creative minds on the project, he stated further:

“My first call was to Cobhams Asuquo, who had graciously joined us during the Bootcamp to inspire the creatives and share valuable experiences. I also reached out to Ak Streets, a renowned talent marketer who contributed his expertise at the Conference and the Bootcamp. Additionally, I connected with Ola Oluwasanmi, the Marketing Lead at Yivera, Onawale ‘Elaw’ Kuforiji, the Founder of O’Boy Records in the UK, Chukwidi Aligbo, Bamy Smilz, and Luis Beeb; who served as the in-house A&R for the Bootcamp and took on the role of project manager. The overarching themes of Life, Aspiration, and Patience were thoughtfully integrated into the selection of the seven tracks.”

He described the Bootcamp as an unconventional and deeply spiritual experience:

“Over a span of three days, we had more than twenty creatives collaborating intensely, day and night. In addition to the usual artists, producers, and songwriters attending Bootcamps, we welcomed music marketers, PR executives, and talent managers for a more holistic approach. This Bootcamp was anything but conventional. Guided by the Holy Spirit, it was titled ‘Echoes of the Grind,’ reflecting the powerful experiences and collaborative energy of those three days and nights of hard work.”

Echoes of the Grind EP isn’t just another project. It’s indeed a sound diary of persistence; a soft reminder that even in the grind, greatness echoes the loudest.
