Nollywood star Adunni Ade has once again delivered a timeless message that is resonating deeply with fans across social media.
In a recent video shared online, the actress revealed that for over 10 years, whenever asked in interviews what advice she would give to the younger generation, her answer has always remained the same:
“Never dim your light to fit someone’s standards. Never belittle yourself to fit someone’s lifestyle.”
Adunni reflected on her younger years when she admitted to dimming her own light and belittling herself in order to fit in with others. But the experience taught her that doing so doesn’t make people like you more — instead, it makes you “invisible to yourself”.
She went on to encourage young people to embrace self-confidence, self-worth, and authenticity, stressing that no one should compromise who they are just to gain acceptance.
