Popular songstress, Favour Ugochi Anosike a.k.a Ugoccie has unveiled her much anticipated EP titled ‘Voice Of The East (V.O.T.E). The EP contains groovy melodies like Isimgbaka, Uwa, Ogo M and Ezi Enyi.

Asked about the inspiration  the VOTE  EP, she said:”The VOTE EP is an intentional story telling EP that brings a new spice to the kind of music i make, intentional storytelling melodies. The EP is inspired by life events and stories that have happened in real time and also my  love for story times as a growing child and my love for culture”.

Speaking further the Headies ‘Rookie of the year’ 2022 nominee noted that adopting her indigenous style is a blessing to the eastern paprt of Nigeria.

“I feel like a vacuum has been filled. It’s not a lot of women we see telling stories the way Ugoccie does. Fusing in myr indigenous method is simply a blessing to the Eastern part of Nigeria. Drawing my inspiration from the likes of Onyeka onwenu, Celestine ukwu and co, my music is a breath of fresh air and has brought back rhythm and life into the eastern scene of the Nigerian music industry”.

On the impact she sees the EP making, Ugoccie said: “I hope they see the stories, the craft and the art because each song is beautifully curated for a certain purpose and I want them to see the beauty and intentionality in my art defying standards and stereotypes. Every melody will resonate with the listener. ‘Eargasms’.
