10 onboard as private jet crash-lands in Ibadan

A private jet carrying ten people crashed near Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan, Oyo State’s capital.

The incident occurred on Friday, around 11 a.m.

It was reported that the aeroplane missed the runway and skidded into the neighbouring bush. But there were no casualties.

Firefighters and rescue officials from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) were immediately deployed to the scene.

“It was a private plane from Abuja. It landed safely but overshot the runway. There was no casualty,” a spokesperson for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Carol Adekotujo told Channels TV.

In November, a plane carrying the minister of power Adebayo Adelabu crash-landed at the same airport.
