I regret not following some of Simi’s advice- Adekunle Gold

Nigerian artiste, Adekunle Kosoko popularly known as Adekunle Gold, has said he regrets not listening to some of the advice his wife, Simi gives him.

The singer fondly called AG Baby by his fans made this known during an interview with content creator, Tayo Aina tagged ’24 hours with Adekunle Gold’.

Asked how he deals with his wife also being an artiste, the ‘Ogaranya’ crooner said: ”That’s why it’s even more beautiful because I don’t have to do much explaining. She understands, and I understand as well she needs to go somewhere. So we shuffle it.Its beautiful to see that we are both different brands, she is thriving and I am thriving. That’s beautiful. If you don’t have a supportive woman, ‘Body go tell you’. You need one. A lot of advice she has given me, some that I don’t follow, I end up regretting .I always run things by her before I make decisions. Sometimes I make my own decisions, she is just gifted, she is just blessed”.

The entertainer also hailed his wife as one of the best songwriters.

“She has the right words, right everything. She is very supportive with the music as well. Simi is one of the top three songwriters in Nigeria. She is an amazing songwriter and I really hold her in high regard, having someone like that in my corner is such a blessing for me as well. I always bounce up my songs with her, she sends me hers as well”.

On his thoughts about the spread of Afrobeats, Adekunle Gold said: “Rema is number three right now on billboard, do you know how crazy that is? Billboard top 100.That’s insane. Very soon, that song will get to number one. We are crossing borders like literally traveling without visas with the songs.

I am happy to be one of the propagators of this beautiful genres”.
