Tinubu appoints Keyamo as Minister, withdraws Shetty Maryam
President Bola Tinubu has nominated former Minister of State for Labour Festus Keyamo as a minister.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio made the announcement on Friday during a plenary session.
Tinubu also replaced Maryam Shetty, his ministerial nominee for the Ministry of Women Affairs, with Dr Maigari Mahmud from Kano State.
On Wednesday, Tinubu added 19 more names to the list of ministerial nominees sent to the senate for screening, six days after dispatching the first 28 names to parliament.
Keyamo’s addition now takes the total number of ministerial nominees to 48.
As of the time of filing this report, Gboyega Oyetola, former governor of Osun and Ibrahim Geidam, former governor of Yobe and incumbent senator representing Yobe east, have been screened and asked to “take a bow and go”.
