“Sex Is Only for Marriage!” — Juliana Olayode Warns Singles

Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode has told unmarried people not to let fears about sexual compatibility push them into sex before marriage.

In a lengthy social media post on Saturday, November 8, 2026, the actress known as Toyo Baby said people regularly approach her with questions about sex, relationships, and Christian belief. Some of those conversations, she admitted, involve language she would not use with close friends or inside her usual Christian circle.

“Sometimes, people say things I wouldn’t ordinarily say or use words that aren’t even in my vocabulary. Not necessarily because they’re wrong for expressing themselves, but because these aren’t conversations I would typically have within my regular circle or with my close friends,” she wrote.

One recurring worry, according to Olayode, is whether couples need to see each other naked or have sex before marriage to confirm they will be sexually compatible. She rejected the idea that physical size decides satisfaction.

“The size of a man’s penis does not determine sexual satisfaction,” she stated.

She added that marriage is not a test couples must pass before they can say yes to each other.

“Sex is important in marriage. Sexual compatibility matters. But I believe we sometimes place so much pressure on knowing everything beforehand that we forget that intimacy is also something couples grow into,” she wrote.

She said partners can learn each other’s needs, communicate preferences, and seek help from Christian sex counsellors or qualified therapists after the wedding.

Olayode, a longtime advocate of sexual purity, argued that abstinence does not guarantee a perfect marriage any more than premarital sex guarantees satisfaction.

“Purity is not a guarantee of a perfect marriage. Having sex before marriage doesn’t guarantee sexual satisfaction either,” she said.

She described purity as an act of love and trust toward God rather than a bargain for a trouble-free union.

“Purity is not a transaction where we abstain today in exchange for a perfect marriage tomorrow. We pursue purity because we love God, because we trust Him and because it is the life He has called us to live,” she wrote.

She closed by restating her position clearly:

“And yes, SEX IS FOR MARRIAGE. I believe it, I talk about it, and I stand by it.”

Born June 7, 1995, Olayode rose to prominence as Toyosi, or Toyo Baby, in Funke Akindele’s Jenifa’s Diary. She has spoken publicly for years about reserving sex for marriage and has previously described the personal difficulty of that choice.
