“Journalist Forced Us to Announce Secret Wedding!” — Ibrahim Suleiman

Nollywood actor Ibrahim Suleiman has revealed that a journalist’s 24-hour deadline forced him and his wife, Ihuoma Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, to announce a wedding they had planned to keep private.

Speaking in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Suleiman said the couple married in 2018 and intended to stay quiet. They had already tied the knot about a week earlier when the call came. The journalist told them he liked the pair, but his sources had confirmed the marriage and his team would publish the story within a day.

“A journalist called us and said I like you guys, but I see what is going on. My sources have confirmed it. He said he would give us 24 hours and then his team would run the stories,” Suleiman recalled.

After the call, his wife pushed for them to take control.

“When my wife called me, she said we have to own our narrative,” he said.

They then spoke with her father, who agreed the secrecy had run its course. Friends and their inner circle had tried hard to protect the news, but it was time to let it out.

The couple’s decision to go public on their own terms followed years of keeping their relationship low-key after meeting on the set of Tinsel. They formally married in November 2018 and later welcomed their son, Keon Iman Suleiman, in 2020. Suleiman has previously spoken about how Linda entered his life after a difficult period, describing her as the person who restored his belief in partnership.
