Senator Ned Nwoko has publicly urged fans, friends, bloggers and social media users to give his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, room to recover, while warning that fabricated reports about her could attract legal action.

In a statement shared on his Instagram page, the Delta North lawmaker said the actress had endured more than many people realised and needed support rather than further scrutiny.

“I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space,” he wrote.

He framed the request around their two sons as well.

“I make this appeal not just for her sake, but also for the sake of the kids, who are very well cared for and deserve to see their mother supported, loved and given every opportunity to get better.”

Nwoko said her well-being had always mattered to him, even as their marriage unravelled in public.

“Regardless of the difficulties we have faced, her well-being has always mattered to me. It is, in fact, the very concern that brought much of our private situation into the public domain.”

He singled out what he called false and distressing content, including fabricated death announcements and misleading stories about her health and personal circumstances.

“These things are not harmless social media engagement,” he said.

He added that he would not tolerate the deliberate spread of such information and that publications were being documented for possible legal steps.

“Let me make this very clear: I will not tolerate the deliberate spread of false information about Regina, particularly fabricated reports about her death, health or personal circumstances.”

The couple married in 2019 and have two sons. Their relationship became a running public dispute from October 2025, with Daniels accusing Nwoko of abusive and controlling behaviour, which he denied, and Nwoko attributing problems to alleged substance abuse, which she disputed. Court proceedings later addressed access to the children, with directions that included rehabilitation and assessment before contact could be restored. No formal reconciliation has been announced.

On her 25th birthday on October 10, 2026, Daniels shared a video in which she appeared in a wheelchair and spoke about months of severe pain and mobility difficulties that had kept her largely off social media. She said what began as a minor issue had worsened and that she was grateful for improvements. Nwoko’s latest statement referenced that video as a glimpse of the challenges she had been facing and called for compassion instead of criticism.
