Former Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Victor Ikpe, known to viewers as Keivo, has accepted full blame for the fight that ended his run in the “Show Ya Sef” house, days after Big Brother removed him for striking fellow housemate Tram.
Keivo posted the statement on his X page after Big Brother disqualified him on Tuesday, September 29. The clash began on Monday night over a black shirt. Tram accused Keivo of taking the shirt. Keivo denied it and said he owned a similar one. He grew angry at being called a thief, and the argument turned physical. Reports from the house said Keivo threw the first punch before other housemates stepped in. Big Brother later played the footage for the remaining housemates, named Keivo as the person responsible, and ordered him out.
“Keivo, as the perpetrator, has been removed from the house. He is therefore disqualified from the house,” Big Brother announced, and warned the others that “Violence is never an option.”
In his first public response, Keivo did not shift the blame.
“I’ve had some time to reflect on everything that happened and I take full responsibility for my actions. My emotions took the best of me. Regardless of how strongly I felt, physical confrontation is never a solution to any situation. And I take full responsibility for my actions,” he wrote.
He had reached the final week and was still in contention for the season prize when the ruling came. He also won the Week Nine Head of House challenge earlier in September. The exit leaves the remaining housemates to close the season, with the finale set for October 4.
Keivo told supporters he would treat the exit as a lesson rather than an excuse.
“I will learn, become better, and do my very best to make you proud of Keivo the Challenger, the Competitor, the man of many talents, the son of Grace, the VICTOR,” he said.
He thanked Big Brother and MultiChoice for the chance to share his story, and he thanked family, friends, and voters who backed him.
“I came into Big Brother’s house hoping Nigerians would see who I am. I leave knowing that millions of people did. Thank you for loving me at my best, and thank you for holding me accountable for my actions,” he wrote.
He closed by asking for God’s mercy, wisdom, grace, and strength, and said he trusts that the setback still has a purpose. He also wished Nigerians a happy Independence Day.
Big Brother has removed housemates for violence in past seasons, including Tacha in 2019 after a fight with Mercy Eke.
