Nollywood actress Moyo Lawal has gone after an X user who dragged her looks, her age and a 2023 leaked intimate video, then accused her of blocking younger women in the industry.
The fight started after she posted fresh photos and asked if anyone missed her. A user with the handle @guzu_p quote-tweeted the pictures and launched into a slur-filled rant that called her past her prime, pointed to the old tape and demanded she retire so others could take her place.
Lawal did not let it pass. She asked whether the man was angry simply because she still looks good, then tied the insult straight to a former lover she said could not survive the breakup.
“Your reasons for typing this nonsense is because I look amazing? Because I left a man whose feeble brain could not deal with losing me and he tried to destroy me in the process?” she wrote.
She then tore into the career story he tried to sell.
“Uncle, I came from TV oooh, my first job was with a married couple, my jobs after that were obtained through mass auditioning and I mainly worked with female producers… me and sleeping around has absolutely nothing in common sir.”
Looking sexy and unmarried, she argued, is not the same thing as sleeping around.
“So a sexxy woman who is not married is automatically sleeping around??? lol ask about me… taaa… rubbish talk.”
She closed that reply by turning the morality lecture back on him:
“I am positive I have not even had as many partners as your current partner whatever AGE the person may be!”
The 2023 leak still hangs over every new attack. An intimate video of the actress and a man she later described as an ex she had planned to marry circulated without her consent and wrecked her public peace for a long time. She has said it damaged her work, forced her to pull back and left her dealing with people who still treat that tape as an open licence to shame her. She has also said the man blamed her when she tried to leave and told her that if he could not have her, nobody else would want her.
Lawal was not finished with the men who use women’s private lives as punching bags. In a follow-up, she widened the fight beyond one handle.
“All this weak men throwing foolish words around, I am positive that in my entire lifetime, I have not had as many partners as their current partners, whatever AGE that person might be,” she said.
Then came the sting she wanted the timeline to remember.
“It’s ironic that such men usually end up with highly promiscuous women that just look *respectable. Abeg get away flies.”
