Speed Darlington has turned a live chat with Rufai Oseni on Nevon Media’s Black Box into open war talk. He wants Carter Efe first. After that, he wants Burna Boy in the ring and says the grudge will not die with the final bell.
“My aim is to take Burna Boy to the ring after I finish with Carter Efe. I can never forgive Burna Boy for locking me up, so I’ll use the opportunity to offload my anger on him in the ring. Even after the boxing match, our enmity is for life,” he said.
In 2024 he was arrested and later held after a petition linked to Burna Boy over alleged defamation and cyberstalking. He has always framed the episode as punishment, not justice. On this show, he went further and said he will never forgive it.
The immediate fight is closer. Speed is billed to meet Carter Efe on October 1, 2026, at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos under Balmoral Promotions’ Chaos in the Ring series, with DAZN listed as the stream partner. Size talk has already entered the buildup. Speed waved it off.
“I have the whole package to knock Carter Efe out. It’s not really by height. Carter thinks because he’s taller, he can produce maximum damage. I’ll eat him for breakfast.”
Carter has his own swagger after beating Portable by unanimous decision earlier this year and collecting the celebrity circuit’s biggest recent payday. Speed is coming from the other side of that ledger. Portable stopped him in a previous Chaos in the Ring meeting. On Oseni’s show, Speed said money was never the real reason he stepped in with Portable. Pride was.
“I didn’t even really go into a boxing fight with Portable because of money. Portable talks too much and I wanted to offload my anger on him. I booked the mumu for a performance at my show in Lagos. Instead of him to politely reject, he started insulting my mother and father.”
Celebrity boxing in Nigeria has become a business of grudges, and Speed is talking like a man who wants the biggest one on the card.
