Davido spent Friday night, 11 September 2026, on X throwing punches at DJ Tunez, Wizkid’s longtime DJ, and dragging last April’s Obi’s House fight with Burna Boy back into the timeline. Tunez answered with nicknames, album shots and a warning to leave music to musicians. The old Afrobeats triangle is loud again.
The first strike was the one that named the wound.
“Since you went to the ground, you haven’t rested … THE PERSON WHO BEAT YOU .. You left him to face me who had no business in it! Shit crazy,” Davido wrote.
He did not stop at one post. He told Tunez someone sent him, then threatened to go dirty and dismissed him as not worth the energy.
“Did they send you after me?? Ewww stop the foolery. It takes nothing for me to DO U REAL DIRTY! But I ain’t got nothing to gain CAUSE YOUR ASS AINT WORTH SHIT BUT A GRAIN OF DOODOO.”
Minutes later he tried a rebrand.
“FROM TODAY I RENAME U SHITTY TUNEZ.”
He mocked Tunez for playing Nakupenda, Davido’s own record, and when a user wrote that Tunez left the man who beat him to drag someone who never touched him, Davido quoted it:
“MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.”
Tunez had already lit the fuse with “OK SLOVIDO!” and “PROMOTE YOUR MUSIC AND GO PLEASE!”
Davido quoted that post and told him to “GO clean your ass.” He then turned on Tunez’s camp, asking Machine Dot, tied to Tunez’s management at The BT Group, why the team never bounced on Burna in New York, and calling the setup a “Shitty ass team.”
Tunez came back after dark.
“LEAVE MUSIC FOR THE MUSICIANS!”
Then:
“WITH YOUR SHITTY ASS ALBUM!”
He flipped the new nickname into “SHITVIDO!” and closed the stack with “SHIT FOR SHIT!”
The replies split into 30BG and Wizkid FC like a familiar away day. One side said a DJ should not be the one dragging a headliner. The other said Davido picked a fight with a man still carrying Burna’s meme.
What remains unverified is the private slight that started Friday’s stack. Davido did not name a song, a show or a quote beyond the ground taunt and the Nakupenda shot. Tunez did not publish the “big announcement” some fans claimed triggered OBO.
For a scene that sells peace and unity on award nights, Friday was the other product.
