Nollywood actress and influencer Nimmy Ferrari has been laid to rest in the Sagamu house she had just finished building, days before she was due to host a housewarming there. Colleagues confirmed her death over the weekend.
Fellow actress Oluwakemisola Apesin, known as Kemity, broke the news on Instagram.
“Everybody is back home we left only you IDERA Nimmyferrari it is well,” she wrote.
Actor Jigan Babaoja added:
“May her soul rest peacefully.”
Victoria Kolawole, Dada Tolani, Adeola Adewoyin and Biola Adekunle were among those who posted condolences. Pulse later reported that her younger sister also confirmed the passing.
Born Nimota Adesanya and also referred to in some reports as Adesanya Nimota Omotolani, she was in her mid-to-late 20s. She built a following with street-style vox pops and collaborations with Nollywood actors. Some social media reports say she developed complications after fibroid surgery, but that account has not been confirmed by her family or by a hospital statement. The exact cause of death remains unofficial.
Videos shared on Sunday showed a large crowd at the newly completed compound. Mourners said men dug a grave on the property and carried her remains, wrapped in white cloth, to the burial spot. What was meant to be a celebration of the house became the place she was buried.
Six days before the tributes, on September 1, Nimmy posted a new-month message that fans have now reread as a last public word.
“Through the fire and the storm, I’m still standing. May the Almighty God bless this new month and turn my trials into testimonies,” she wrote.
