The family of late Nollywood veteran Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has dismissed circulating reports that one of his daughters just gave birth to a baby boy.
The false claim spread on social media alongside a short video labelled “My Daddy’s Carbon Copy.” The post suggested the child arrived only days after Ogogo’s burial and resembled the actor. The reports named his daughter Shakirat, also known as Kira Taiwo.
Ogogo died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer. He was buried the next day according to Islamic rites in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State. The family is still in mourning.

On Wednesday, Haleemah Taiwo, also known as Lima, another of the late actor’s daughters, issued a public disclaimer on Instagram after friends and relatives began calling to ask about the rumoured birth.
“DISCLAIMER. Please disregard the information currently circulating that my sister has given birth. This is not true,” she wrote.
“We have been receiving several calls and messages from friends and family asking about it, so we felt the need to clarify publicly. At a time when our family is mourning the loss of our father, we kindly ask everyone to stop spreading or sharing unverified information about our family. Thank you for your understanding, prayers and for our privacy at this difficult time.”
Independent checks later indicated that the circulating video and photos appear to be older material from around February 2024, when Kira welcomed a son while her father was still alive and publicly celebrated becoming a grandfather.
The episode is the latest wave of unverified family news to hit the Taiwo household in recent days. The daughters had already been forced to address rumours while their father was still receiving care. They have now asked the public to leave them in peace as they grieve.
