How MC Oluomo, Colleagues Saved My Life — Ronke Oshodi

Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodioke has opened up about a long-standing silence with colleague Sotayo Gaga, revealing that the other actress still reached out with financial support during her serious health battle despite years of no communication.

In a recent interview with African A-List, Ronke recounted the emotional and financial strain of her illness, noting that she was spending as much as N800,000 every month on drugs. She credited MC Oluomo and several colleagues for helping keep her alive through the difficult period.

Turning to her relationship with Sotayo Gaga, the actress made it clear they were never at war but had simply drifted apart after a minor disagreement.

“Take Sotayo, I don’t just mention names lightly but I will mention hers. Sotayo and I hadn’t spoken in a long time, not that we were at war, but we had a little disagreement. The last time Sotayo and I spoke was 5 or 6 years ago. But when she heard that I fell sick, she sent me N150,000 naira!” Ronke said.

She added that the gesture did not restart their friendship.

“If we meet at a party, we bypass each other without greeting.”

Ronke expressed deep gratitude for the unexpected kindness while reflecting on the broader support she received.

“Thank God that He is God, and thanks to MC Oluomo and my colleagues who kept me alive today, do you know what it means for someone to buy drugs worth 800,000 naira every month?”

The actress also shared that she joined the Cherubim and Seraphim church during the height of her illness and emphasised that she does not condemn other religions.

Sotayo Gaga is widely known in the industry for her generous spirit, having previously supported other colleagues in crisis. Ronke’s revelation has drawn mixed reactions, with some praising Sotayo’s quiet generosity and others questioning why the two still avoid each other after such a meaningful show of care.
