Reports claiming popular Nigerian dancer and singer Poco Lee has been arrested in the United Kingdom over a rape allegation have spread rapidly across social media, though the claims remain unverified by official sources.
Poco Lee, whose real name is Iweh Pascal Odinaka, rose to fame through energetic dance performances before expanding into music and collaborations with major Afrobeats stars. As of the latest available information, neither UK law enforcement authorities nor the entertainer’s management have issued any statement confirming an arrest, formal charges, or the identity of any alleged victim. Details surrounding the reported incident stay unclear.
The circulating reports quickly prompted a separate allegation from US-based Nigerian rapper Ms Jorji. In videos shared online, she claimed that roughly two years ago in Dallas, Texas, Poco Lee attempted to sexually assault her and her girlfriend when the pair visited his apartment seeking career advice in the music industry.
Ms Jorji alleged that after she played him a demo track, he grabbed her inappropriately. She said he then turned to her girlfriend, grabbing her body and clothes before trying to pull her into another room. According to her account, the two women fought him off, shoved him aside, and fled the apartment, driving several hours home that same night.
“Poco Lee tried this shit with me in Dallas. My friend and I went to see him, as I played him my demo, this nigga literally grabbed my pussy. Then he starts pulling my friend’s boobs, ass, clothes. He’s 5’4 so it was easy to fight him off,” she stated in one video.
In follow-up posts, Ms Jorji expressed regret for staying silent at the time. She said her girlfriend and manager urged her to let the matter go because she was new to the industry.
“I feel so guilty about this Pocolee thing, I wish I would have listened to my instincts and reported him when it happened. If I reported him 2yrs ago, he wouldn’t have graped this girl in London,” she said.
She also claimed Poco Lee is currently being held in a UK prison and added that she “100 per cent” believes the reports against him.
The allegations have drawn mixed reactions. Singer Mr Real insisted the UK claims are false, stating he could “tell you 100%” Poco Lee “didn’t do anything” and sharing his own past experience with promoters who allegedly worked with women to create similar situations.
Social media commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM) urged caution, saying he was not calling Ms Jorji a liar but demanding evidence.
“I am not saying you are lying, because I wouldn’t. It’s your story to share. But sometimes, people can still come out and lie,” VDM said.
“If you don’t have proof, Poco Lee didn’t do it. Once you start bringing proof, no problem. But for now, I take it say no do,” he concluded saying.
Ms Jorji later responded to VDM’s comments, challenging Poco Lee to come online and personally debunk her claims if he believes she is lying.
Neither Poco Lee nor his representatives have publicly addressed the reported UK arrest or Ms Jorji’s accusations. All claims remain allegations only. No court has established any guilt, and no independent confirmation of an arrest has emerged from UK authorities. Further official updates will determine the next steps in this developing story.
