Popular comedian and content creator Anita Asuoha, better known as Real Warri Pikin, has resolved a heated dispute with Delta State stakeholders over her planned comedy show after days of public controversy and threats.
The disagreement erupted when the event was advertised as a Real Warri Pikin show in Warri, even though it was scheduled for Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area. The Wado City Advocacy Group strongly objected, insisting that the location must be correctly identified as Effurun.
Real Warri Pikin earlier cancelled the September 20 performance at Monarchy Event Centre on Effurun-Sapele Road. She described the situation as exhausting and linked it to long-standing ethnic tensions among the Ijaw, Urhobo and Itsekiri communities. She also said she had faced bullying and pressure, including calls to remove “Warri” from her stage name.

On Thursday, the parties released a joint statement on Facebook signed by Real Warri Pikin, representatives of the Wado City Advocacy Group, Collins Eselemo, Chief Godfrey Ishegbe and a Delta State Government representative.
“The meeting provided an opportunity for everyone involved to speak openly, clarify concerns and address the matters that had led to the recent disagreement. After extensive discussions, all parties agreed to put the matter behind them and work together in the interest of peace and the successful hosting of the event,” the statement read.
They further agreed that there would be no more public confrontations, accusations or hostile communication on social media or elsewhere.
“We therefore jointly extend our sincere apologies to anyone who may have been inconvenienced, disappointed or affected by the manner in which the disagreement became public.”
“There are no winners or losers in this matter. What is important is that the concerns raised have been addressed, communication has been restored and all parties have committed themselves to working together respectfully,” the statement emphasized.
A new date, venue and full address for the comedy show will be announced once arrangements are completed.
The resolution brings relief to fans who had followed the drama closely. Real Warri Pikin, known for her bold comedy and strong connection to Delta State, has repeatedly said her brand represents more than any single local government.
