“Don’t Judge Tinubu Now!” — Jide Kosoko Defends President Amid Criticism

Nollywood Veteran Jide Kosoko Crowned Oloja-Elect

Nollywood legend Jide Kosoko has passionately defended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging Nigerians to exercise patience as the administration builds the nation despite widespread hardship and criticism.

In a revealing interview with Feel Right News podcast, the veteran actor addressed ongoing national debates, acknowledging imperfections while calling for understanding and calm heads.

“Tinubu is not God and that means he can never be perfect,” Kosoko stated frankly.

“In the early stages of building a house, it can’t look attractive. You have to wait till the building has been completed to be able to judge it properly.”

He slammed what he described as orchestrated antagonism:

“The people antagonizing Tinubu know how to stir the pot to suit their ideas… What his opponents want you to know is what you’re hearing.”

Kosoko also touched on the role of some activists, suggesting self-interest often clouds genuine criticism.

“Are we saying we don’t know how the so called activists collect money from the people at the top for one thing or the other? Then they dump the causes on the masses to carry for them. We understand everything!”

On the sensitive issue of youth unemployment and government support, he expressed concern over inaccurate statistics and the need to separate productive youths from others.

“The useless youths are now mixing up with the useful ones. Automatically, an educated youth who earns a degree and can’t find a job is a disgraceful thing. The government has to look into how we can remove the chaffs from the wheat. The percentage of useless youths is much more than the useful ones.”

His comments come at a time of intense public scrutiny of the Tinubu administration over economic policies, insecurity, and daily struggles faced by ordinary citizens. Kosoko’s stance reflects his belief that supporters should not be quickly labelled as puppets, insisting people can reach independent conclusions based on realities.

The actor’s strong words have ignited fresh debates online, with many praising his candour while others question the timing amid ongoing national challenges.
