Former Big Brother Naija star turned Nollywood actress Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, popularly known as Bambam, has declared her bold ambition to shatter her romantic lead stereotype by playing a ruthless villain in an action-packed movie.
In an exclusive interview with Potpourri, the talented thespian expressed excitement about taking on more demanding and complex characters that will showcase her versatility beyond the lovable roles she has become known for.
“That one character I would love to play is in an action film. I look forward to being in a film that is not a romcom, that is action. I would also love to play the villain in a movie and see how I am able to interpret that role,” Bambam revealed passionately.
The actress, who has steadily built a promising career in Nollywood since her BBNaija days, believes embracing such a challenging antagonist role will push her artistic boundaries and open new doors in the industry.
Bambam also reflected glowingly on her recent breakthrough performance in Omoni Oboli’s movie Love In Every Word, describing the project as a major turning point.
“I am truly elated and grateful to God for the opportunity given to me by Omoni Oboli for taking a chance on me. She has been a blessing. I am really blessed at how Nigerians and the world have received this movie. I am grateful, elated, and blessed. Absolutely, I am trusting God that this will be a turning point for me as an actress,” she said.
To sustain her rising success, Bambam disclosed plans to sign with a professional management team that will guide her career decisions objectively and protect her interests amid the pressures of fame.
“How I intend to handle the spotlight and the expectations that come with it is to be signed to a management company, a management team that I am liaising with to ensure that my interest is protected at all times,” she explained.
