They Shamed My Plus Size Then Shamed My Slim Body — Eniola Badmus

Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has opened up about her remarkable weight loss journey, revealing she shed an incredible 87kg over five years through sheer discipline and self-love. The star went from weighing 170kg five years ago to 83kg in 2026, a transformation she describes as one of the hardest battles of her life.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Badmus shared the emotional rollercoaster behind her success.

“Five years ago, I weighed 170KG. Today, in 2026, I weigh 83KG. That didn’t happen overnight. It took years of discipline, sacrifice, pain, consistency, tears, setbacks, and choosing my health every single day,” she wrote.

The actress expressed pride in her progress while lamenting persistent body-shaming.

“The same people who body-shamed me when I was plus-size are the same people body-shaming me now that I’ve lost the weight. What exactly do you want from me?” she asked.

She acknowledged that losing nearly 90kg naturally affects the skin, but stressed she is actively caring for herself with collagen and healthy habits.

Badmus admitted the criticism hurts despite her silence.

“Just because I don’t respond to the insults doesn’t mean they don’t hurt. It doesn’t mean I’m weak. It doesn’t mean I don’t have feelings. I’m human,” she added.

At her age, she views the achievement as remarkable and called for kindness instead of constant judgment.

She directed a special message to women:

“So much of this bullying comes from women. We often say, ‘Women should support women.’ But where is that support when another woman is fighting to become healthier and happier? Kindness costs nothing.”

Badmus concluded by urging respect for bodies at every stage.

“Nobody deserves to be bullied for being plus-size, and nobody deserves to be bullied for losing weight either. I’m proud of my journey.”

This latest update builds on her earlier posts where she encouraged plus-sized women that being fat is not the problem but self-hate is. Her 2022 AMVCA appearance after initial changes sparked massive online buzz, and she has been open about undergoing gastric bypass surgery in Turkey to help control eating habits.

Badmus’s story inspires many battling weight issues while highlighting the harsh reality of body-shaming from all sides.
