Veteran Nollywood actor Ricardo Agbor has melted hearts with his emotional testimony of waiting 18 long years for the blessing of twins, revealing the deep pain, unwavering commitment, and strong faith that kept him and his wife going through years of childlessness.
In a heartfelt interview, Agbor opened up about his journey to fatherhood, disclosing that he married the woman he loved regardless of tribal differences and stayed faithful throughout the difficult waiting period.
“I wanted to get married to a particular lady; I married her regardless of where she is from. She is not from my tribe. So ordinarily, we were supposed to have strife; no, it was very fair,” he shared.
The actor specifically prayed to God for twins and held on to his belief even as the years rolled by.
“It took 18 years for me to have the twins. And I waited. God knows, 18 years and they are 14 now, so I told God I wanted twins.”
Today, the twins are 14 years old, bringing immense joy to the family after nearly two decades of hoping and trusting.
Agbor also touched on the loss of his mother, who died in his arms. He described it as one of the most painful moments of his life.
“My mom died right in my arms… It was my mom that told me to take her away from that place. As I was carrying her into the car, she gave up. I think that was the first time I cried in my life. I don’t cry. If I cry, maybe it is in a movie and it is a role. So I cried. It was painful.”
Agbor’s testimony highlights the often-hidden struggles many public figures endure behind the glamour of Nollywood, proving that triumph can come after the longest waits.
