Officer Woos Denies Drug Arrest Rumours, Threatens Lawsuits

Popular Nigerian content creator Jubril Oladapo Gbadamosi, widely known as Officer Woos, has strongly denied viral allegations that he was arrested for drug trafficking and that he used his platform to announce the death of a colleague.

In a strongly worded statement released on June 19, 2026, through his legal team at Versed Attorneys, Officer Woos described the circulating claims as fabricated and malicious.

“We hereby unequivocally state that both claims are entirely false, fabricated, and without any basis whatsoever.”

The lawyers clarified that their client has never been arrested, investigated, or connected in any way to drug trafficking at any time. They also firmly denied that he announced the death of any colleague, friend, or associate on his platforms.

“Our Client has never been arrested, investigated or in any way connected to allegations of drug trafficking at any point in 2025 or at any other time. Also, our Client has never announced the death of any colleague, friend, or associate on any of his platforms.”

According to the legal team, the rumours were spread by anonymous accounts on X as part of a deliberate campaign to tarnish his reputation.

“These publications are entirely manufactured and constitute a deliberate attempt to misinform the public and damage our Client’s hard-earned reputation, brand, and professional standing.”

The statement cited relevant provisions of Nigerian defamation law and the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, warning that fabricating serious criminal allegations is a punishable offence.

Officer Woos issued a 48-hour ultimatum demanding an immediate and unconditional retraction of the false stories, along with a public apology on the same platforms where the claims first appeared.

Failure to comply, the statement warned, will result in swift legal consequences, including civil suits for defamation damages and formal complaints to law enforcement agencies.

“We have the instructions of our Client to take all necessary legal actions… against the original publishers of these statements and any individual, page, or platform that continues to publish, repost, or amplify these or similarly false and defamatory claims.”

Officer Woos, one of Nigeria’s most popular skit makers with a massive following across Instagram, X, and YouTube, urged his fans and the public to disregard the rumours and rely only on verified information from his official channels.
