Celebrities Clash Over Baba Ijesha, Luminee’s New Baby

Nollywood and entertainment circles have exploded with divided reactions following the announcement that actor Baba Ijesha and celebrity stylist Luminee have welcomed a baby boy, with some stars rejoicing while others slam the union as morally unacceptable.

Baba Ijesha, who was released from prison in November 2025 after serving time related to a 2022 conviction for sexual assault of a minor, announced the birth of King Kagar Omiyinka with deep gratitude to God. Luminee also expressed overwhelming joy and affirmed her love for her husband.

Several celebrities congratulated the couple warmly. Destiny Etiko wrote, “My woman.” Bobrisky said, “Congratulations, my love.” Yomi Fabiyi added, “Congratulations, Lu’jesha…” Bimbo Akisanya prayed, “The joy shall be permanent in Jesus name.”

However, others expressed outright disapproval. BBNaija star Angel Smith did not hold back in Luminee’s comment section, writing “Ew” before questioning:

“How can you, as a woman, have a baby with this person, knowing his crime. You had a child with someone who committed such a visceral crime against another child.”

Nkechi Blessing reacted with visible shock in a video, exclaiming, “Haaaa. As how? Or it is AI? Help me.”

Veteran actress Regina Chukwu pushed back against the heavy condemnation, asking,

“Wait, so now he should be condemned for the rest of his life? Make it make sense.”

The sharp division has reopened intense debates about redemption, second chances, morality, and the welfare of the child born into such controversy. While some believe in forgiveness after serving a sentence, others argue that certain crimes, especially those involving minors, carry lifelong consequences and social stigma.

As reactions continue to pour in, the birth of this child has clearly split the entertainment industry and the public along strong moral and ethical lines.
