“My Wife Is My Head” — Baba Elesho Prostrates Before Bringing Mum Home

Veteran Nollywood actor Baba Elesho has melted hearts with his heartfelt revelation about the deep respect he shows his wife, describing her as “my head” and narrating how he humbly sought her approval before moving his ailing mother into their home.

In a candid interview on the African A-List podcast, the seasoned actor shared the touching story of an emergency situation involving his mother’s eye problem that necessitated bringing her into their home. Setting the tone for his story, Baba Elesho declared:

“My wife is my head.”

He explained that he had gone to check on his mother at his younger sibling’s house when she expressed deep discomfort.

“My mum said she would rather be thrown into the sea than remain where she was because she wasn’t comfortable there. So I brought her to Lagos. It was an emergency.”

The actor revealed he left his mother in the car, went upstairs, and prostrated before his wife to explain the situation.

“I left her in the car, went upstairs to meet my wife, prostrated, and told her I had an emergency visitor… I came to ask because she had to be happy about it. She owns the home and her reaction matters.”

According to him, his wife responded with understanding and empathy. She asked what happened, and after hearing the full story, she told him that if it were her own mother, she would also bring her home. She then asked where his mum was and welcomed her without hesitation.

Baba Elesho’s revelation has since sparked wild reactions online, with some questioning how his wife could be his head while others praised him for owning his reality without shame. Yet beyond the debate, his story stands as a quiet lesson in humility and partnership. It shows that respect in marriage isn’t about titles, but about honouring the person you share your home with.
