Nollywood actress Funmi Awelewa has emotionally broken down in public, lamenting the cycle of betrayal she continues to experience from people close to her, including family, friends, and partners.
The popular Yoruba actress took to her Instagram page to pour out her heart, revealing deep exhaustion from repeated disappointments and the lingering effects of childhood trauma that continue to haunt her adult life.
“I’m tired!! For the first time!! I’m tired of deceivers.”
Funmi expressed how long it has taken her to heal from past wounds:
“It took me years to heal from Betrayal and childhood trauma.”
She went on to say that looking back at her experiences while growing up, the same pattern of betrayal keeps repeating itself.
“Looking back on what I experienced while growing up, the same issues. Today I break down feeling lonely and sad!!!!!! I’m tired of meeting the wrong people. I’m not lucky in seeing myself in people.”
The actress, also known as Orijafunmi, declared that constant betrayal is one of the major reasons she remains single, adding that loneliness and sadness have taken a heavy toll on her. She ended her emotional outburst with a prayer:
“God fight for me … For the first time in my life, I’m Tired!”
This latest outpouring comes shortly after social media influencer Mandy Kiss publicly called her out, accusing Funmi and Toyin Abraham of ruining her life. Funmi responded by dismissing the claims and stating she had only tried to guide the younger influencer toward better behaviour.
